W-ALT. From cold to warm technologies: the role of emotions during learning

In this talk, the speaker will elaborate on the current state of adaptive learning technologies (ALT) in education and how they use AI for task selection. The focus of this talk will be how emotion is currently neglected by these technologies, and why we (should) want to incorporate it. She will explain the multimodal approach to examine emotion used in her PhD project, consisting of measures of electrodermal activity, self-reports and observation of facial expressions. This will be an interactive talk, where the audience will speculate on how we can use AI to incorporate emotions into educational technology.
