The Dutch police has taken on the challenging task of keeping under control the number of sources in the digital world. The new technologies that keep arising bring the police new challenges and possibilities. The Pre-Development team investigates and tests techniques that might prove useful for the future’s police. In this context, a technically oriented presentation of a few tasks within the team will be given, including: digital enforcement in traffic regarding distractions (in other words: digitally producing fines to prevent phone use behind the wheel), but also the application of automated conversion of speech to text and the potential this technique has to offer for the police.
