Superintelligence will mean the end of us, so several experts suggest, many people fear, or some nerds hope. Indeed, Elon Musk recently suggested that our best defence against being kept as ‘house cats’ by AI, may be to become cyborgs.

I will discuss these scenarios and their accompanying emotions, and investigate what might remain of humans and humanity.
